LOURDES AUDITORIUM CUM THEATRE

Lourdes Auditorium cum Theatre aims to provide a common platform for the young learners to enhance their creativity. Creativity can flourish, academics can improve, and means of self-expression can be developed. The venue is used for all types of formal assembly: lectures, seminars, award ceremonies, dramatic presentations, musical theatre productions, concert performances of orchestra and band, competitions of dance and elocution and so on. It is centrally Air-Conditioned – Accommodating 500 Seaters with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System Noise Control.

 MINI-CONFERENCE HALL CUM ACTIVITY ROOM

A well–equipped conferencing room can provide a congenial environment for productive discussion and learning. It is a common belief that a comfortable environment breeds creativity. The school organizes academic conferences, faculty development programs, webinar for online education for the students and the faculty. The students use the hall for activity purposes like group discussion, debating and conferencing, etc. The conference hall has 200 seating facility.

KIDDIE COVE

Sports’ training is given to the students from L.K.G onwards. An exclusive Kiddie Cove for L.K.G. kids to Grade II is arranged to improve their loco-motor skills and various fitness components. Loco motor skills and general space awareness are fundamental skills every child needs to progress in physical education, and to ultimately lead a healthy lifestyle. In our school we spend time working on these skills. Students need to perform different loco motor skills at the kindergarten level. The loco motor skills include: walking, running, skipping, galloping, hopping, jumping, sliding, walking backwards, and leaping. Students learn these activities to develop the skills necessary to complete all of the loco motor skills. Young children are literal when it comes to how they think. They will not be able to take an abstract description of something and understand it. We use  loco motor cards designed that are colorful, have characters of different ethnicities, which is important for many reasons, and provide students with easy to see and read information on each loco motor skill. There are so many fun games out there that can be used to teach loco motor skills. Learning loco motor skills are done in many fun and engaging ways. Our class room is set up in such a way that the child plays and studies inside the classroom happily and has fun games outdoors as well that develops their loco motor skills. The students from Class III onward choose their own special interest of sports and the same is being trained by an expert team throughout the year.

SMART CLASS ROOMS

Smart class is an essential method of modern education system. The audio\visual animated contents help the students in easy understanding of the concepts. The said Smart Class Rooms are updated consistently by the school in 2 different phases.

Smart class systems are installed in all the classrooms, where the teacher explains the concepts using computer systems. The entire classrooms are fully converted into Smart Classes. The education contents have been developed as movies and the animated movie contents have been mapped with the syllabus of the students so that students are able to understand the syllabus better than by teaching through the rote method of using chalk and the board alone. Normally, teachers use Visual Aids like charts, flash cards for explaining concepts to the students. But now, the said concept is explained to the students in the form of a video. The software contents are available for all the subjects and are licensed contents. The teachers are trained to handle the softwares, and in-house software engineers are also available within the school campus for assisting the teachers in content searching and development.

 AMAL VISION – AN EDUCATIVE CHANNEL

This is an in-bound educative channel that telecasts various educational programmes within the Amalorpavam campus. Amal Vision plays an effective role in inculcating discipline, good manners, and ethics of life as well as instilling knowledge in an impressionable way in the young minds of the children.

A special TV studio in the school premises fully equipped with computerized mixers, broadcasting software and a recording theatre is used for telecasting live programmes and also for recording various programmes that would be telecast periodically.

 RFID LIBRARY

The School Library provides academic resources for all constituents of the school -students, faculty and administrative staff. The library strives to make resources readily accessible when and where needed to enhance and promote the total growth and development of the students. The library endeavors to provide students with opportunities to learn how to utilize materials in a variety of formats and access information so that they can continue lifelong learning.

Our library is an RFID enabled one which helps to monitor the library system easily. The library collection stand to around 7081 books. The books are classified and fully computerized. The method of classification is colon classification. Search engines are provided in the library where the students can search for their required books and locate them very easily in the racks. We have multimedia facility to search topics on a variety of subjects. Our School library consists of 786 reference books and 26 periodicals and 54 Maps.

 ENGLISH LANGUAGE LAB

Good communication skill is a mandatory requisite for success in all professions. Learning a new language by studying its theory is not adequate to guarantee a successful language learning experience. The English language, in particular, has become essential in the lives of young people who aspire to advance their careers anywhere in the world. English language learning has therefore become a must for any Indian student today. The onus of English language enhancement among learners lies solely with the institution. The institute has made appropriate arrangements to set-up a good digital language lab for the young learners.

English Language Lab is installed with Internationally Certified Language Learning Software providing audio visual equipment to enhance comprehensive language skills. It focuses on the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing adopted in blended methodology of games, playway, repeat and practice exercises, etc.

LIFT FACILITY

We are the first school in the region to launch the lift facility. The lift with 20 passengers operates from Ground floor to top floor.

RFID Cards

Modern education system today primarily focuses on comprehensively utilizing the high–tech solutions for the safety of the students and helping the school and parents monitor them. The school provides ID cards for the students, which is enabled with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. It is a smart ID card based on comprehensive attendance management system. The school has installed RFID Reading Device at every entry and exit points of the school. When the student passes through the entrance or comes within the range of the RFID reader, the transponder detects the RFID card and marks the attendance. The RFID also monitors the movements of the students within the school campus. This technology resolves many problems of absenteeism and malingering.

INFIRMARY

Our School has a well equipped infirmary with full time well experienced and qualified nurses, a doctor and a specialized doctor on call. The infirmary is fitted with a hospital bed and the required medical equipments. The nurses have access to everything they need along with the medicines to ensure the well being of our students and staff. The school also organizes regular medical check-ups in association with reputed hospitals. They conduct physical examination for the children along with the specialized eye and dental check-ups, within the premises of the school. So the school takes the immense effort in ensuring the well being of the students.

RO WATER PURIFIER

The school is providing purified drinking water for all the students and for the said purpose the school has installed two centralized Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plant of 1000 lt/hr. The said water purification plant eliminates contamination from the water along with TDS and provides effective de-salination, removing the odour and enhancing the taste of water. Such water purification plants remove all unnecessary bacteria and virus from the water which is hazardous to health. The filtration process also removes the toxins and makes water clean, pure and fit for drinking. The entire system is automated and the purified drinking water is provided to all our students throughout the day through sufficient and separate number of taps.

FIRE FIGHTERS

The School has taken necessary precautions in order to prevent any untoward incident in the case of an emergency, like fire. Every floor of our school buildings is fitted with fire safety/fighting equipments, like fire extinguisher (CO2 and ABC Gas Cylinders) and hose reel watering system. The Students, Teachers and Non-teaching staff are given special training with the help of fire experts on how to handle these in an emergency. A drill is also conducted at frequent intervals.

24/7 SECURITY SERVICE

In order to ensure a secure school campus, Closed Circuit Cameras have been installed at all vantage locations. In addition to this, we also have trained security personnel taking care of the security at our campus.

TRANSPORT

Transport facility is available for the students from Std III to Std VIII.  The school takes utmost care in transportation. It is making use of only new buses and mini buses designed as per safety standards stipulated by the Government of India and is fitted with speed governance equipments in all its vehicles for the safety of the students.

The vehicles are also fitted with CCTV cameras that can be viewed from the School Campus. The maintenance of vehicles is done at regular intervals to avoid unnecessary breakdowns. The school has engaged the services of well experienced drivers to operate its vehicles and the safety and discipline of the students during the travel is given utmost care.

PLAY FIELD

Our Sports arena occupies the major chunk of the total campus area of about 3 acres in Kombakkam. The school has International and National standardized Indoor and Outdoor Sports fields

BADMINTON COURTS

BASKETBALL COURT

The basket ball court is provided with an International standard outdoor polypropylene tiled flooring. The court is equipped with movable dunk post fitted with toughened glass and with safety bed attached with the post designed as per the FIBA rules.

VOLLEYBALL CUM THROW BALL COURT

The volleyball cum throw ball court is provided with International standard outdoor polypropylene tiled flooring. The court is provided with steel hydraulic adjustment post with sportive net, handle lifting with brass gear box of removable type as per FIVB rules and TFI rules.

TENNIS COURT

The tennis court is provided with International standard 5 layered acrylic Outdoor floored court designed as per International standards fitted with Philips lighting whose lux level is 300 to 450. This Court is first of its kind among Pondicherry schools.

TENNIKOIT COURT – Non Standard

The Tennikoit court is provided with its standard measurements – cement floors fitted with movable post with adequate lighting for training the students in the evening hours.

KHO KHO COURT

Kho-kho is facilitated with standard measurement with movable post and adequate lighting for the evening hours training.

HANDBALL CUM FUTSAL COURT

Hand ball court is facilitated with grass layer floored movable post with all standard measurements as per International Handball Federation rules and 5A Side Football rules.

KABADDI CUM BALL BADMINTON COURT

Kabaddi court is facilitated with red soil layer floored movable post with all standard measurement as per IKF Rules and the said court can also be used for playing Ball badminton alternately.

TABLE TENNIS ACADEMY

Table Tennis academy is in an indoor space fitted with 2 national standard boards. Necessary lighting arrangements are made to maintain a lux level of 500. In addition, a special robot is fitted to a table tennis board to give intensive training for the beginners and very good players and help them learn the various nuances of the game and face tournaments successfully.

CHESS ACADEMY

Chess academy is placed in an indoor space with 10 chess mats and all necessary arrangements are provided for training and conducting state level tournaments after school program.

CARROM ACADEMY

Carrom Academy is in an indoor space with 8 tournament boards. The lighting is hung at a convenient height and fitted with 100 watts light as per ICF rules. Arrangements are made to alter the height of the light based on the request of the player. The carom boards are set with supporting equipments as per ICF rules.

JUMP ROPE

Jump Rope space has cement floors with adequate lighting for training the students in the evening hours.

70MTS TRACK

70 mts track is laid with grass to improve the speed of the runner. It consists of 6 lanes with standard lane to promote sprinters.

CRICKET NETS

Our school provides quality cricket training, opportunity to learn and follow the skill akin to world-class cricketing in an innovative environment. Cricket practice nets are provided in an outdoor space with mats and all necessary arrangements for training the students.

ARCHERY

Archery court is laid with soil layered floor with 2 movable target areas. All preventive measures are arranged for the safety of the students. Regular trainings are conducted by professionals and individual practice sessions can also be taken in the evening hours.
